TECHNICAL DIRECTOR OF THE EVENT

Luis Nunes has been a Trampoline Technical Committee member since 2014.

He took part in his first trampoline competition in 1980, which led him to be a member of the Portuguese national team for trampoline and DMT from 1984 until 1994. Among his many accomplishments as a gymnast, Luis is a double European DMT champion (1993) and world champion (1994). He is also a distinguished coach – he has coached multiple DMT world champions and Olympians. He was also the coach for Portugal at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. Away from trampoline, Luis is a physical education teacher and, when he has some spare time, he likes to run, go mountain biking, play Padel or just be with his family.

PROGRAM 2023

For coaches, this camp will focus on the topic “How to better prepare your gymnasts for

competitions” and will include lectures and discussions about:

• Periodisation Training;

• Conditioning Circuit;

• Skills Variety, Jumps, Strength;

• Safe progressive practice in training;

• Theory and practical in spotting and safety;

• Code of Points (introduction and explanation);

• Friendly Competition.

GENERAL INFORMATIONS

The philosophy of our training camp is to provide access and enjoyment for those who would like to improve their performance under the supervision of coaching experts. These experts organise training sessions aimed at the improvement of both young participating gymnasts and their coaches. The experts will also facilitate exchange of experience between all participants and lectures for the coaches. Participants will learn more about training planning and progressive construction of routines.

For this year’s Training Camp, we are proud to offer participation to coaches and gymnasts from all our three disciplines: Trampoline, DMT and Tumbling.

✔ PARTICIPANTS:

The camp is open to gymnasts for TRA, gymnasts for DMT and gymnasts for TUM.

Total capacity is 140 participants.

Gymnasts must be aged from 11 to participate (born in 2012).

✔ LANGUAGE

The course/camp will be held in English. Nevertheless, the Gymnastics experts can

also communicate in French, Spanish and Portuguese.

✔ CAMP LEADERS AND COACHING EXPERTS

Coaching experts: Paul GREAVES, Sergio LUCAS, and Luis Rosa NUNES (TUM). Depending on number of participants, additional experts with

experience in coaching national teams may be invited.

✔ LEVEL OF THE GYMNASTS

Preferred level:

• national / regional team members and candidates;

• national championships participants;

• gymnasts from countries starting and developing their TRA programme.

All other gymnasts will also be welcomed.

✔ PARTICIPATING COACHES

Both young new coaches interested in further developing their skills and highly experienced coaches ready to share their knowledge are welcome to register.

ACCIDENT AND HEALTH INSURANCE

Health and accident insurance is recommended to all participants. However, please mind that cash

payment may be requested by the health professionals.

✔ RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COACHES

As most of the gymnasts participating in the training camps are still minors, it is important to

underline that the coach(es) accompanying the gymnasts must take care of the welfare and

security of their gymnasts.

• Accommodation in triple room: €380

HIGH PERFORMANCE CENTER - SANGALHOS

The High Performance Center in Anadia is a top multi-sports venue. Within the velodrome, we have almost 3000 square meters with all the equipment for every Gymnastics Disciplines. This was the home of several FIG World Challenge Cup in the last few years, as lots of other international and national competitions.

This is one of the most wanted Gym Centers in Europe for high-level teams camps. Top National teams like Great Britain, Brazil, France, Belgium, Switzerland and many other national teams and clubs made from off-season camps to specific preparation for olympics or world championships in this venue.

It’s a fully equiped gym with 2 official floors, 2 very comfortable pit zones, all the apparatus to official mats and to the pit, trampolines, fastrack, etc. Obviously, every WAG equipment will be set for our camp.
